What do we offer?

Pruning and tying in climbing roses with my dad this past weekend
He goes back to the UK tomorrow, so I’m soaking in all the experience in those hands, all the knowledge he holds from decades of gardening
It’s one of my favourite things to do together, tending the plants, harvesting vegetables and flowers. Taking our time and being really present in the moment, the photos really are nothing compared to my mind’s images and memories
Thanks for the wisdom and help dad, can’t wait to see them flourish next season 💗

Thank you for the love of my wallpaper from yesterdays post! I did tease that I was doing the room back in May, then forgot to show you the finished look 😂
So here you are, from boring beige to granny chic. The blue woodwork was already there, just refreshed as it was ageing, but the paper is the fun bit, from @sanderson1860 in the UK, carried home by my dear Mr BV from a recent trip.
There’s pictures to be hung, some other bits to finish, and shelfscaping to do (is that even a thing?), but it’s my favourite space, plus I can see the garden from here, whilst reading my favourite flower books
Life is for living, colour and pattern make me feel alive, so happy to be rid of the boring beige!
This is your permission to go wild, use the funky paper and colours - I promise you’ll feel good for it

Sending out a huge bunch today for some event work, so thought I would scramble a little post for myself too
I love using herbs; texture, scent (choose wisely!), and longevity all come into play, plus many are perennials so they reliably come back again and again with very little work required

It’s such a beautiful space, currently in full bloom, thousands upon thousands of smiling sunflowers to walk through - plus they have a whole program of events all through August
Last night we went to their first live music evening, with @oldflamebrewery providing drinks and @lowlandsfirefood providing fresh pizza
What a way to kick off the weekend! A super chill vibe, fantastic food and drink, such a cute set up all sitting in the middle of sunflowers, couldn’t ask for more

Life can be busy, chaotic, messy, fraught, exhausting - but flowers always make me feel better
I quickly snipped these before the storm on Thursday and hurriedly stuffed them into a rose bowl, placing them on the bedside table as I ran round closing the windows against the rain and wind
The power went out, but as it flickered back on in the early hours, the gentle scent of the roses had started to perfume the room
They won’t last terribly long, but they are a very welcome sight each time I enter the room
I try to put little posies wherever I can, in the hallway, on my desk, by the sink - they all bring me joy and help relax my mind and soul, juuust that little bit
Stop and smell the roses is a cliche, but it’s a cliche for a reason

Felt good to be picking Iris today, they were in my wedding bouquet. Admittedly those ones were blue, but I do love this creamy white

Oh Serena, I think this is my favourite outfit for you to date. Tulip Angelique, en masse, some still tight, some open so your ruffles of pink and white will last as long as possible
Some will open almost white, others with a strong pink, and I love the mix together.
Can’t wait to see your summer outfits too!

Mulch. It can be anything really, but for a permanent bed, we like to use wood chips.
We do get through a fair amount though, and are lucky enough to have access to all kinds of windfall and other forest clearance wood
So - we did a thing, and bought a chipper to make our own. I haven’t seen Mr.BV so happy to help with the flower beds for some time…..

Still a ways to go before we have any decent amount of tulips, but the daffs are soon going to pop. So excited to have fresh blooms again!
